Community & HSE
Indigenous by design, safe by discipline
As a wholly Nigerian-owned company, developing local capacity and protecting the people and communities we work alongside is core to how we operate.
Building sustainable local capacity
K-Lakay Global Limited maintains a workforce that is 100% Nigerian on current projects. Where expatriate services are engaged, they are capped at no more than 20% of the workforce and are strategically attached to train and transfer technology to Nigerian personnel, with each engagement limited to two years — building sustainable local capacity to manage Nigeria's oil and gas industry.

Employment that benefits host communities
- Non-skilled labour is recruited from the community closest to each project site, with skilled professional staff also drawn from the community where available.
- Terms and conditions of employment are clearly communicated to local labour prior to engagement.
- Jobs are created for legitimate positions only — the principle of "no work, no pay" applies, with any issues reported promptly to the client.
- On-the-job exposure is provided so unskilled local labour can acquire new skills over the course of a project.

Our commitments on every site
Personnel & Equipment Protection
Every stage of site activity is closely monitored by our Project Coordinator and Project Engineer. Work is stopped immediately whenever there is imminent danger to life or property, with the situation reported to both the client's project office and our base office without delay.
Minimal Environmental Impact
We operate in line with client HSE policy on every project, working to minimize adverse effects on the immediate environment — including managing traffic and equipment movement near host communities — and fully implementing EIA and survey recommendations.
Community & Land Engagement
Where project work affects community land or crops, we carry out joint assessments with landowners and pay compensation at client-approved rates, giving sufficient notice before any site activity begins.
Emergency Preparedness
We maintain sufficient vehicles to evacuate personnel from site quickly when required, and keep emergency contact numbers for the nearest fire-fighting units available to our HSE staff on every project site.
